Baking Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract until well mixed.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, until edges are set and centers look slightly underbaked.
  • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
